What are you currently reading?

Post by Jamie on Thu Feb 28, 2008 1:29 pm

Right now I'm finishing up Blaze, by Stephen King (writing as Richard Bachman), I'm re-reading The Once And Future King by T.H. White, and I'm still reading Bill Clinton's Giving. Next up are Duma Key and Vulcan's Soul.

Yeah, I'm going for more of the fun reads right now instead of anything serious. I'm trying to write fiction so I think it helps keep my mind in those nether-lands of imagination.

Plus I have all these shiny new copies of books that are calling me . . . study

Heh, I'm trying to write fiction as well, which is why I'm reading the book about civil war women as soldiers. Fascinating stuff these ladies did.

My brother has my copy of 1776. I have to remember to get that back from him. I forgot all about it!

Just finished Blaze on lunch today. Cool

I do most of my reading in the summer. Right now I just peruse my 2008 World Almanac (I've been getting it for 35 years now), and reading up on all the interesting and non-interesting facts from there.

As of last summer I was in the middle of While Europe Slept by Bruce Bauer and The Road to Reality by Roger Penrose. I like reading books about the universe and all. I think I read the Elegant Universe (Brian Greene?). I find quantum mechanics stranger than fiction.

I have one of Greene's books--Fabric of the Cosmos, I think.

Interesting stuff. I try to follow string theory but sometimes I get a bit too involved with it. I find the possibilities of quantum theory--like quantum duality--fascinating.
